Environmental assessment is a crucial component of plans and project within the European Union. The above EU policies aims to pursuit several objectives: preserving, protecting and improving the quality of the environment; protecting human health; prudent and rational utilization of natural resources (principle of prevention); promoting measures at international level to deal with regional or worldwide environmental problems, and more recently combating climate change. More specifically EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) and SEA (Strategic Environmental Assessment) directives aims to include environmental considerations before the decision is taken. In the process of elaboration of SEA and EIA, the description of the state of the environment has a crucial role. Moreover, the description of the alternatives is a mandatory requirement for environmental assessments. The SEA and EIA tool provides information on the environmental state of the selected Region Of Interest. The tool produces a pdf report containing the information about Protected Areas, Population and population density, Land use, Climate data, Potential Ecosystem Services, Hydrogeological hazard and risk etc.
